There is a high demand by the public schools across the United States for educational interpreters probably due to the 1990 passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act which further defined the role of educational interpreters for the Deaf and hard of hearing. The Educational Interpreter Technician Program's graduates are usually hired within two months of graduation. Currently, graduates earn on average between $14.00 - $17.00 per hour plus school district benefits packages. Since 1990, the Educational Interpreter Technician Program has successfully placed 92% of its graduates as educational interpreters mostly in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
