(Wausau, WI) - The General Educational Development Testing Service (GED Testing ServiceŽ) of the American Council on Education recently announced the development of a new 2012 Series of the GED Test to be released on January 1, 2012.
Individuals who are currently taking the GED testing series, or who are beginning the process to get their GED, need to complete all five assessments (Language Arts, Reading; Language Arts, Writing; Social Studies; Science; and Mathematics) by December 31, 2011. The new 2012 GED testing series will begin on January 1, 2012. The two testing series (2002 and 2012) may not be combined; meaning any individual who has already started their GED and does not complete it by December 31, 2011 will need to begin the entire testing series over again.
The specifications for the GED Test are assessed at regular intervals to certify that content reflects current academic standards for high school graduates across the United States and Canada. As expectations and standards change for high school students, GED Testing Service aligns the Test with these same expectations and standards. The new 2012 Series GED Test will reflect current academic standards for high school graduates.
