About the BIT

The Behavior Intervention Team was created in 2009.  The NTC BIT is an interdisciplinary team that serves as a central network focused on assisting students in the maintenance of their mental and physical health during the pursuit of their academic goals.  Key objectives of BIT are to identify, assess, manage, and reduce risk so students, faculty, and staff can thrive in a safe, secure learning environment, free from threat.

How We Function:
  • Scheduled meetings once each week
  • Crisis meetings as necessary
  • Referrals are made to the team  by faculty and staff using the Maxient form located on the home page of the NTC Intranet
  • Information is reviewed at each meeting
  • Recommendations are communicated with necessary parties
  • Follow-up information shared with the team as progress reports are received
