Insurance Continuing Education
For those looking to maintain their license
In order to maintain your license in any of the lines of insurance, agents need 24 continuing education credits every two years, by their birthdate on the even year. At least 3 of these hours must be in ethics.
Continuing Education Course Offerings
We offer a number of courses that can help you meet your continuing education requirements. These courses are approved for continuing education credits by the state. The course duration in hours equals the number of credits you will receive.
Note: We offer both 2 hour and 4 hour continuing education course sessions. Any course of that length is approved for continuing education credit. We also offer the 8 hour Principles, Ethics and Law course which will cover your ethics continuing education requirements. The Accident and Health, Casualty, Life and Property courses are for pre-licensing only and do not count for continuing education credit. The current course offerings are listed above.
For those looking to earn a license
The State of Wisconsin requires all prospective insurance agents for all product lines to attend an approved course of study before taking the insurance exam. The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance requires that all applicants attend 8 hours of Principles of Insurance Ethics and Law plus 12 hours of education directly related to the product line. The 8-hour Ethics and Law component needs to be taken within the last 12 months before your exam.
Pre-licensing Course Offerings
These courses are approved by the state to obtain your insurance license. Upon completion of the Insurance Principles for Pre-licensing course and the 12 hours of training in an individual line, you are eligible to take the state licensing exam in that particular line. The current course offerings are listed above.
