The community services area provides those in various community roles opportunities for additional education led by qualified instructors designed to meet the necessary state certification requirements.  We specialize in training for those in early childhood, those in the interpreting profession, and those in need of training in the human services area. Current Courses:

 

 

Early Childhood

NTC is pleased to offer several options for Early Childhood Professionals to satisfy their Continuing Education requirements.  Our classes are taught by expert instructors in a fun, interactive and energetic environment. You will receive a certificate upon completion and need to attend ALL hours of the courses.
  • Family Licensed providers need 15 hours of continuing education each year
  • Group Licensed Day Care providers need 25 hours of continuing education each year


 
 

Certification and Licensing Options

CERTIFIED CARE
This is for child care done in one’s own home.
                                               
PROVISIONALLY CERTIFIED
This is still child care in one’s home but only authorized for care of immediate family members. 

Courses required
The same courses are required for both certifications:

  • Introduction to the Child Care Profession ( 40 hour course with modules A and B combined) 
  • Fundamentals of Family Child Care (8 hour course focusing on the business of child care)

FAMILY LICENSED
This is for child care in one’s home within the state of Wisconsin.  The Department of Children and Families oversees the business requirements. 

Courses required

  • Introduction to the Child Care Profession (40 hour course with modules A and B combined )
  • Fundamentals of Family Child Care (8 hour course focusing on the business of child care)

Interpreting

NTC is an approved provider of continuing education credits and our courses are certified through the Department of Public Instruction. Our courses are offered for credit, meeting the need for 6 credits of continuing education for interpreters.

Clinical Supervision Program

NTC’s Clinical Supervision program covers the full 30 hours of education necessary, including all the requirements of s.SPS 161.04.
