Learning Center Hours
NTC’s district-wide learning centers offer a wide variety of academic services. Whether you are just beginning your college journey, returning to school after many years, or need academic support in your coursework, the learning center instructors and staff are here to help.
Need to improve your reading, writing, or math skills to get into a certificate, diploma, or associate degree program? The staff at the learning center will assess your current skills, develop a customized plan, work one-on-one to improve your basic skills, and guide you through every step of the process.
Instructor-led classroom options are also available. Pre-college Boot Camp is an intensive Learning Center program for students needing to remediate post-Accuplacer in reading sentence skills or arithmetic. Completion of work demonstrating competencies leads to Learning Center remediation sign off. Minimum Accuplacer scores must be met in order to enroll in the courses. There is a $4 fee per course. For more information, contact admissions at 715.675.3331, Ext. 5861 or admissions@ntc.edu.

Learning Center instructors and staff will guide you through the process of earning your GED or HSED. Morning and evening orientations are held regularly at the Wausau campus to answer your questions about cost, study materials, time and investment required, and graduation. To sign up for an orientation, stop into the Learning Center (room A133) or call 715.803.1152.
The English Language Learning (ELL) program at NTC is designed for adults whose native language is not English. Classes are offered at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. ELL instructors and staff will help you set goals and choose classes to meet your needs.
NTC also offers an Intensive English Program for international students to gain high proficiency with the English language for professional and academic use. Available part-time or full-time. Application required, see www.ntc.edu/international for more information.
NTC’s College Success Series will help you develop or fine-tune your abilities in dealing with stress, time management and understanding financial aid, as well as academic preparation for Anatomy & Physiology and Nursing courses. These short-term classes will help you navigate, create balance and succeed at NTC. Take a look at College Success course descriptions.
