The Minority Student Advisor/Coordinator serves to assist minority students with many aspects of their educational journey at Northcentral Technical College so they can be successful in completing their education training programs.

 
Services Provided:
  • Advisement of admission requirements/process
  • Educational planning such as advising in the selection of career and program areas; and assisting students with enrolling in occupational programs and courses
  • Academic and personal advisement to students, including adjusting of students’ class schedule or adding/dropping classes to balance personal life schedules
  • Assistance with applying for financial aid
  • Orientation of students to college activities and resources
  • Campus or program tours for an individual or a small group
  • Program resources and procedures and administration of various scholarships and grants for minority students
  • Assist students with any other education related issues
  • Resources to the College in its goal to meet the growing diversity needs of the community
  • Referral for Community Services
  • Advise for the Diversity Student Club
  • A wide range of recruitment and retention services for minority students
