Now, more than ever…
The need for better educated and trained, more productive employees is being voiced by companies throughout central Wisconsin. The number of skilled manufacturing jobs available is second only to those in healthcare, and the need is growing. According to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 45 percent of all jobs created over the next several years will be “middle skills” occupations-jobs like electronics technicians, medical assistants and nursing aids, welders, pipe fitters and air conditioning mechanics.
Northcentral Technical College is the area’s resource to provide the education and skills that fill the needs of the local economy.
Now, more than ever…
NTC is serving more district residents than ever before. Enrollment has grown 24% in just the past two years, thanks to expanded offerings, flexible scheduling, and an increased number of classes offered on-line, evenings and weekends.
Unfortunately, the financial barriers for students have also risen. State-mandated tuition has risen each of the past 15 years, and the price of books alone now averages more than $500 each semester! Combined with the rising costs of daily living, many students are finding it difficult if not impossible to continue their learning journey.
NTC Foundation scholarships provide the means that lower financial barriers and increase opportunity and access for students.
