Step 1: Pathways
Pathway Schedule
Attend Pathways. This FREE informational session will talk you through EVERYTHING you need to know about our health programs. Not only does it talk about how to apply and our new petition process, it also advises what to do while you’re waiting to start classes and how to apply for financial aid.
Step 2: Portfolio
The Portfolio is how you APPLY to your program of interest. It puts your name on the pre-program acceptance list.
Create your application Portfolio as outlined at Pathways and in the admission guidelines (follow link and select your program of interest). Following is a list of items typically included in a Portfolio. Be sure to check the admission guidelines for your specific program.
- Application with $30 application fee
- Date of Pathways or proof of online completion
- High school transcripts or GED/HSED scores
- College transcripts, if applicable
- Proof of prerequisite courses (ie biology, chemistry) or typing test
- Admission test scores (Accuplacer or ACT) or proof of acceptable exceptions
The Portfolio MUST BE MAILED. There is NO DEADLINE to submit the Portfolio.
Side Note: Financial Aid
You are ONLY eligible for financial aid once you have submitted your COMPLETED PORTFOLIO. If you wish to receive aid for an upcoming semester, your Portfolio MUST BE POST-MARKED PRIOR to the first date of classes AND you must request pre-program status by calling 715.675.3331, ext 5860.
Step 3: Petition Process
Petition Instructions and Forms
For all programs you may petition during an open window in February. For Nursing and Medical Assistant, you may also petition in September. Be advised you may only petition to a program for which you have already submitted a completed application Portfolio.
Students will be selected for program core courses and clinical based on the following:
- Date and time of pre-program acceptance based on Portfolio submission (NOT date of petition packet submission).
- Verification of petition requirements being met.
- Residency: NTC district residents first, then out-of-district residents, then out-of-state residents.
Preference is NOT granted to student who have already completed all general studies requirements and/or with previous degrees.
