If you are interested in being admitted to an Associate Degree program at Northcentral Technical College, please follow the steps outlined below. We recommend that you begin this process at least six months before you would like to enroll.
Before you arrive at NTC
Select an Associate Degree program (two-year) from our catalog or web site.
Complete an NTC Application for Admission. You may print it out and mail it to: NTC, Admissions Office 1000 W. Campus Dr. Wausau, WI 54401-1899. Please enclose US $30 application fee. The application fee is nonrefundable.
Provide evidence of high school graduation - send an official transcript of your academic records. If you have attended another postsecondary institution, you may also send those, but the record of high school graduation is required. Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
Non-native speakers of English must meet our TOEFL test requirement: 470 on the paper version or 150 on the computer-administered version. Please provide us with an official test score report. In the event that you are already in the area and interested in attending Northcentral Technical College, please contact UW-Eau Claire Testing Services to take the TOEFL test at 715.836.5522. Complete and submit the Emergency Contact Form.
Complete and submit the Confidential Financial Statement (print form). You will need to provide evidence of sufficient funds to pay for tuition, books, school-related costs, and all living expenses for the period of study at Northcentral Technical College. Acceptable evidence is an official letter from a bank showing that you have funds available to pay for the full cost of your education and living expenses.
A limited number of out-of-state tuition waivers are available to international students. To be considered for the lower rate, please attach a written statement that addresses why you are in need of the lower rate.
After you have submitted all of the above materials and have been admitted to a program, the college will mail you a letter of admission and a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status).
Once you receive the I-20, you will need to visit the U.S. Consulate or Embassy in your country to apply for an F-1 visa. In order to be considered for the student visa, you will need to provide:

Once you are granted the F-1 visa, you may travel to Wisconsin to attend Northcentral Technical College.

Take Accuplacer pre-entry test, as required of all NTC Associate Degree students. Your scores in reading, writing and math will be used to advise you regarding appropriate classes.
Provide evidence of health insurance. We encourage you to purchase the Student Health and Accident Insurance Plan, which is offered by a local insurance agency (for students only who are under age 30, $470 per year; for students only over age 30, $660 per year). If you are entering NTC in the fall, you must purchase insurance for both semesters.
Pay all tuition and fees for books/materials when registering for classes.
