WAMPEN (Wisconsin Advanced Manufacturing Pathway Education Network)
The WAMPEN grant provides for successful student transitions between secondary and postsecondary institutions and employers in the area of advanced manufacturing (e.g. welding/metal fabrication, robotic applications, engineering technology). It also lays the groundwork for other Rigorous Programs of Study (RPOS) aligning career pathways, workforce needs, and student interests.
Three school districts – DC Everest, Wausau, and Spencer – are working to develop comparative employment and school data in this career pathway. The future funding and planning of the Carl Perkins Federal Grant for CTE is directly linked to the outcomes of this important study. Opportunities with other NTC partnering school districts may be developed in the future.
