Host-Mentor Families

Want to be a Host Family?

Host families are a corner stone of our International programs. As a host family, you provide a supportive and caring home environment for a student while they study in the US. The relationship between you and your student lasts a lifetime and has a positive impact on everyone in your community. The term "family" can have many forms and meanings. The only ingredient needed for a good host family is a positive attitude. A warm, welcoming home makes a world of difference to an international student.

If you want to enrich your life with a SEED student, please contact Christopher Knight at 715.803.1038 or knight@ntc.edu

What is SEED? Our list of International programs has an overview of SEED and our other short-term hosting opportunities. For additional details, review the SEED Host Family Brochure.

Mentor families help our students feel connected to our community. As a mentor family, you are always on the go but want to offer your friendship and time in other ways rather than home stay. Take a student out for family fun, go to the museum, attend community events and activities or just sit down to eat a blended ethnic meal. This is the perfect opportunity for you to exchange and share culture, language and background traditions.

If you want to be a mentor, please contact Tetyana Schneider at 715.803.1816 or schneidert@ntc.edu.

See our list of International programs for all our mentoring opportunities.
