Health Career Exploration Day

Health Career Exploration Day is a day dedicated to career exploration for DC Everest 8th and 9th graders. Students will spend the morning learning about a multitude of careers in the health field by touring and participating in hands-on activities in NTC’s Center of Health Sciences building.

The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl is a financial literacy study program culminating in a college bowl quiz competition.  The Competition features student teams competing for trophies and fabulous prizes.  All teams are led by adult coaches who help students study and prepare, as a classroom or an after school activity

G.A.M.E. Day

Gain A Meaningful Education. High school students who are enrolled in any NTC academy or dual credit classes or our Youth Apprenticeship program will learn about how the classes they are taking in High School are transferred to NTC, program clusters by visiting classrooms and labs, meet NTC instructors and talking with current students. In the afternoon, students will visit area businesses.

Wood Technology Discovery Day

Students will spend two hours at NTC's state-of-the-art Wood Technology Center of Excellence in Antigo learning about the programs NTC has to offer, tour the Center of Excellence, explore career opportunities within the forest products industry and learn why there is such a huge demand for college graduates of wood programs.  Students will be completing a hands-on project that they can keep, by having the opportunity to work with six major machine centers: Planer, Optimizing Ripsaw, Optimizing Chopsaw, Clamp Carrier, Widebelt Sander and CNC Router.

F.I.T.T.

F.I.T.T. offers females an opportunity to explore careers in the technical and trades industry and hear from women working in the field. Activities including problem solving and projects from the design to a finished product. Students under 18 are encouraged to bring a parent.

Auto Career Night

Sponsored by Fred Mueller Automotive, high school students will have the opportunity to connect with area businesses to learn about the automotive industry. Activities include NTC’s Virtual Sprayer, Lung Nut Challenge and many more. Students will be given a passport to fill out and entered in for a variety of prizes donated from area businesses, grand prize donated by State Park Speedway. Businesses included in this event Army National Guard, Mid-State Trucking, Snap-On, C-Tech, Brickner’s, Polaris’s, WATEA and many others.

SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations in high schools and college/technical schools. An all-day regional competition is held at NTC every year and students from across the state come to compete in Architectural Drafting, CO2 Dragster, Job Demonstration, Job Interview, Precision Machining Technology, Related Technical Math, Team Problem Solving, Technical Drafting and Welding.

Michigan Technological University’s Mind Trekkers STEM Road Shows bring the WOW! of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to the hands and minds of K-12 students under the inspirational guidance of the Mind Trekkers team consisting of undergrad and graduate students. Can you walk on water? Make ice cream in 60 seconds? Make a magnet float in mid-air, no strings attached! Let Mind Trekkers be your guide as you explore the excitement of STEM.
