Notification to patron regarding library obligation:
The patron is responsible for notifying the library if his/her mailing address changes. For most materials, an overdue letter will be sent to the patron if an item is still out one week after its due date. If an item is loaned for less than two weeks the first overdue letter will be sent sooner, usually two or three days after its due date. Additional notices will be sent at approximately 2 week intervals. The final notice will consist of a bill for the cost of the materials plus accumulated overdue fines and a $15.00 handling fee. If the material is not returned by the date specified in the billing letter, the account may be turned over to the district's financial services office and forwarded to a collection agency. Circulation privileges will be revoked until Financial Services notifies us of payment. Once a bill has been turned over to Financial Services, the library will not usually accept return of the materials. Exceptions must be approved by Financial Services.
Material returned late: The maximum fine for material returned late is the replacement cost of the item.
Missing material: The replacement cost plus a $15.00 handling fee will be charged
Damaged material: Damaged material returned in usable condition will be assessed a repair fee of less than the replacement cost of the material. If the material cannot be repaired, a replacement cost will be charged.
