Career Discovery Day at NTC

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – No matter where you are on your educational journey, Northcentral Technical College (NTC) has resources available to help you get started and discover a career that fits your unique personality. To help you get started, NTC will host Career Discovery Day on Wednesday, July 22 and Wednesday, August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wausau Campus.
 
The event is free and open to the community.

Speaker Eugene Brown to Present at NTC

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) will host motivational speaker and chess instructor, Eugene Brown, on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Health Sciences building at the Wausau campus.
 
The event is free and open to the public. After his presentation, Brown will respond to questions and comments from the audience about his experience.
 
Nationally known for founding the Big Chair Chess Club as a way to mentor inner-city youth, Brown uses the game as a way to teach young people to think before they move. Geriatric Care Seminar at NTC

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to host a Geriatric Care Seminar on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This seminar offers a chance for health care and caregiver professionals to learn more about the risks inherent with caring for the elderly, especially those suffering from dementia.
 
Presentations will include: “Proven Ways for Staff to Maintain Happiness, Safety and Health in Elders with Dementia” (by Cindy Keith, RN, BS, CDP) and “The Dilemma of Delirium in the Older Adult Population” (by Evalyn Michira, MSN, RN, PHN, CNS).

NTC President Receives National Recognition for Student Support

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) President, Dr. Lori Weyers, was recently named a recipient of the Shirley B Gordon Awards of Distinction after being nominated by students for her support of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
 
The awards were announced at NerdNation, Phi Theta Kappa's 97th Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas, April 16-18. College presidents and campus CEOs are selected for this award on the basis of outstanding efforts given toward promoting the goals of Phi Theta Kappa.
