(Wausau, WI) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC), in conjunction with the Partnership for Progressive Agriculture and Marathon County UW-Extension, will host a four-part Agricultural Seminar Series at its Wausau campus, with the aim of educating current farming professionals on key planning issues related to their business.

The series will open with a Grain Outlook Seminar that will be held from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. The seminar will cover the current state of the grain market and where it is headed in the future. Topics of discussion will also include the 2011 harvest results, current corn and soybean prices, planting intentions and price outlook for 2012. In addition, the seminar will contain a review of the local market results and trends, along with an update on the ethanol industry and how proposed changes in ethanol subsidies may impact the market.

Featured speakers at the Grain Outlook Seminar will include David Moll, Grain Marketing Outlook Specialist for the UW-Extension Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics, Randy Riehle from Wisconsin Rapids Grain, LLC and Roland Koenig, Commodities Manager for Marquis Energy-Wisconsin, LLC.

The cost for the Grain Outlook Seminar is $16 for PPA members and $20 for non-PPA members. Lunch will be provided.
