Electromechanical Technology Associate Degree

Description

Students will develop a wide variety of technical skills in electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems, computers and computer-controlled machines. Programmable logic controllers, motors and drives, servo hydraulic systems and closed loop positioning will be studied. A comprehensive understanding of how these technical skill areas are linked together to create automated systems is developed through a hands-on project course that allows the student to put together the various technologies into a computer-integrated manufacturing system. Potential occupations include: Electromechanical Technician, Industrial Automation Technician, Engineering Technician, Research and Development Technician, Robotics Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, and Field Service Technician. The Electromechanical program is broken down into one credit classes to allow students to take short courses on specific topics to meet their needs.

Graduates will be able to

  • Follow established safety policies, standards, practices, and procedures
  • Analyze electromechanical systems
  • Fabricate electromechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical systems
  • Use electromechanical tools and test equipment
