COURSE DESCRIPTIONS IN ALPHA ORDER

Aerobi-tone Marcia Lindow leads this dynamic-duo class which combines an aerobic routine with a high-rep free-weights workout for the perfect mix of fat-burning and body toning exercises.  Improve strength, muscle tone and endurance while reducing body fat and stress levels. Fitness levels-all.  SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Floor mat; Hand weights (your choice of weight);  water. Class limit = 20  

Fencing  Discover the art of fencing with Mathew Carter.  Open to beginners and ongoing students.  This class will help you gain confidence, keep fit and have fun learning a new sport.  Bring your own equipment or order your starter set at the introductory class (starter sets range from $70—$100). 

Kick N Glide  Linda Rachu will combine kickboxing and a Gliding Disc (http://www.glidingdiscs.com/) in this diverse workout.  Kickboxing strengthens muscles and burns calories. Gliding™ exercises are smooth, graceful movements that firm, tone and sculpt long, lean muscles.  SUPPLIES REQUIRED:  Gliding Disc (provided by instructor), Floor mat, Hand weights (your choice of weight).  Class limit = 15

Leaf Casting  Here’s a great use for those big rhubarb, hosta, squash or pumpkin leaves!  Learn how to cast them into a bird feeder, birdbath or other garden décor. Mary Oertel will help students design, construct and paint these creations. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: 1 bag ‘play’ sand - or enough to support your leaf -remember the larger the leaf more sand you will need - available at Menards or Fleet Farm for appx. $3; 1 large garbage bag; 1 scissors or knife (to cut the bag and stem on the leaf); Rubber gloves; Leaf of your choice.  Class Limit = 10

Legs, Bums & Tums   This is a challenging workout for those stubborn areas:  legs, glutes (buttocks), and abdominals.  Becca Rucker will  focus on conditioning legs, thighs, and core muscles of the lower body including the abdominal, obliques, lower back and glutes. Fitness Level:  Beginner - Advanced Beginner.  SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Floor Mat; Hand weights (your choice of weight).  Class Limit = 20   

Let Your Senses Discover India  Let your senses explore India as Kavita Bhatia shares her homeland’s rich music, culture, landscape and more. Learn more about this fascinating country and get a taste of India as you sample Indian food and spices. She will also share information about the upcoming India study abroad trip.

“Plein Air” Painting & Drawing  Explore plein air painting or drawing while you perfect your outdoor techniques on-site. Sara Merkel-Jacobs will discuss how to depict light and color in this setting. What a great opportunity for any skill level to challenge themselves and learn how to work in varying conditions.  Bring any medium. Supply list provided upon registration.

Pond Management (for large ponds)  Tom Nikolai will discuss the practical aspects of building and managing a pond.  The discussion will include bank and shore structure, weed/algae control, fish habitat/food sources and aeration systems. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: insect repellent; hiking or rubber boots.  NOTE:  No smoking.   Class limit = 9    RAIN DATE: 5/27

Total Body Toning   Join Becca Rucker to tone the entire body through various exercises chosen to target and strengthen major muscle groups using free weights and your own body-weight.  Fitness Level:  ALL  SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Floor Mat; Hand weights (your choice of weight).  Class Limit = 20  

Veggie Time  What’s flat, green, leafy and tastes yummy?  Laura Lake will help kids will discover a whole new world of vegetables and healthy foods. Youngsters will sample a few new vegetables and create their own platter of fun.  Lunch will be served.

Yoga II  Cathy Taylor will lead this hands on, intensive class for both beginners (with modifications), and those who have been taking Gentle Yoga and want to improve technique.  There will be a warm up and the focus will be on the repetition of specific core postures with individual alignment assists as needed by Cathy.  The class will end with a lovely period of meditation and relaxation.  Fitness levels - all. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Yoga mat. Class limit = 20 

20/20/20 (Cardio/Strength/Abs) The emphasis in this class is on cross training -20 minutes of cardio + 20 minutes of total body strength/toning + 20 minutes of awesome abs work.  Instructors:  Linda Rachu SPENCER and Becca Rucker  STRATFORD   SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Floor Mat, Hand Weights (your choice of weight). Class limit =20 Stratford and 15 Spencer  NOTE: SPENCER   No class 8/5
