IF ANY OF YOUR AWARDS ARE LOANS AND YOU ARE A FIRST TIME BORROWER, YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING!

At this point:  you have viewed your financial aid award at the my>NTC student portal and have completed the step to Accept/Decline Financial Aid Awards.  If at least one of your accepted awards is a loan and you are a first time borrower. 

Please complete the following steps:

Note:  These instructions assume that you are still logged into your account at the my>NTC student portal and are viewing your Financial Aid Award Package.

Click Entrance Interview Information (middle link located at the bottom of the Award Summary Page).
You will see a popup box saying "You are about to view pages over a secure connection…"  Click OK.

You will now view a page called " FASTFacts Entrance Counseling."  Scroll all the way to the bottom.
If it is your first time here, click "Create an Account." Read the instructions, provide the information requested, then click " Submit." (Otherwise, enter Social Security Number and Password, then click “Go”).

1)  You are now at the Welcome Page: Welcome to FASTFacts Entrance Counseling.

• Read the directions carefully.
• Click "Take Entrance Exam" (this will take about 25 minutes).
• Go through the "Study Guide" then "Complete the Exam."
• After the Exam is Complete, click "Continue."

Why do Entrance Counseling?
Federal regulations require all Federal Stafford loan borrowers to participate in Stafford Loan entrance counseling before receiving the first disbursement of their loan. Failure to complete the entrance counseling could result in the loss of benefits.

2)  You are now at the FASTChoice Welcome page.
FASTChoice provides detailed information on the terms and benefits offered by different lenders.  Most lenders offer unique benefits with their education loans. You should review each lender's benefits carefully before making a choice.

• Click "Continue."
• Review your "Loan Options."  When you have selected a lender, click "Apply Now."
• You may also select "My Lender is Not Listed."  You would then enter the six-digit lender code and search. If your lender is found, click "Apply Now."
• You are now at the FASTLoans page.

To receive a Federal Stafford Loan, you must complete and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN). This website allows you to do so online.
