We can help! First, we'll do an individual evaluation
to measure the extent of vision loss. Then, we'll help
you select the optical aids that are right for you.
They may seem foreign at first, but we'll also teach
you how to use the visual aids so you feel comfortable
and confident using them when you return home.
We have one of the most extensive collections
of optical and non-optical aids in the state through
our Technology Loan Center. Try out our special glasses,
magnifying glasses, telescopes, electronic closed circuit
television reading systems, sunglasses, and other non-visual
aids.
As part of your evaluation, you'll
meet with trained instructors plus an optometrist who
can make specific recommendations and prescriptions.
This comprehensive evaluation is what makes NTC unique.
We take the time to evaluate each person individually
to determine their goals and objectives. Then, we help
them select those aids that will best meet their needs.
Besides low vision evaluation, NTC
offers other services for visually impaired people,
including vocational testing and career exploration,
technical training and support services, and adaptive
equipment to help you carry on a normal life.
