Admissions Procedure for Students with Disabilities
- Every student who applies to a program at Northcentral
Technical College (NTC) receives a letter from the Center
for Students with Disabilities (CSD) asking if the student
requires any accommodations from the CSD.
- If a student requests accommodations, a meeting is scheduled
with the CSD counselor to discuss the student's needs.
- CSD sends a completed Test Accommodations form to the
NTC Testing Center.
- Students must take the "Accuplacer" Test,
or similar testing, at NTC or another facility before being
accepted into a program.
Testing
- High School Testing, including the ACT and SAT, can
be substituted for NTC testing at the discretion of the
counselor or CSD staff.
- If you need special test accommodations (a reader, extra
test time, etc.), you must meet with the CSD counselor
to document your disability and discuss your needs prior
to taking the test.
- If test results fall within the "conditionally
acceptable" admissions standards range, the student
will meet with the CSD staff, program counselor and NTC
Learning Center staff to evaluate test results as they
pertain to the program to which the student has applied
and develop an educational plan.
- If test results fall within the "not acceptable" admissions
standards range, the student will meet with the CSD staff,
program counselor and NTC Learning Center staff to discuss
career options.
