SUBSTANCE USE AND BODY SYSTEMS
Examines how substance use impacts the body and what diseases are commonly associated with substance use disorder clients. Learners will apply the rules of medical language and characterize the basic structure and functions of the organs of the body. Analyze how substance use impacts various systems within the body. Describe specific diseases that are common in individuals who abuse substances. Examine specific treatment options for common diseases in individuals who abuse substances. Evaluate the role of the SUDC professional in a multidisciplinary team to provide client care.
