Provides instruction in the design of a bi-level residence on a city lot designed to local and state codes. Learners will prepare drawings for bidding as produced in an architectural or custom design office. Coursework will include lectures and discussions on drawing and presentation techniques, energy issues, site planning, building design issues, building structures, mechanical systems and structural calculations. A special emphasis is placed on utilizing high efficiency approaches to building design and construction.
