Provides an introduction to the characteristics and operation of switching circuits including transistors and thyristers such as the DIAC, TRIAC and SCR. Laboratory activities are performed to verify the theory.

Pre/Corequisites: 10-660-113 DC 2: BASIC CIRCUIT ANALYSIS, 10-804-195 ALGEBRA W/APPS or 10-804-118 INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA W/APPS, 10-660-116 AC 1: CIRCUIT FUNDAMENTALS and 10-605-172 ELECTRONIC DEVICES & CIRCUITS 1. Condition: Enrollment in the Electromechanical Technology Associate Degree, Industrial Electronics and Maintenance Technician Technical Diploma, or Electrical Maintenance Certificate.
