Prepares learners to provide emergency medical care sanctioned by WI Department of Health Services, for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) scope of practice. Includes: EMS system, EMR responsibilities, legal requirements/ethical standards, communication, patient movement, pathophysiology, body systems, human development, medication administration, airway anatomy and management, resuscitation, patient assessment, fundamental medical/trauma care, special considerations, and shock. Successful course completion prepares learners for National Registry EMR written examination.
