This course will cover a framework for analyzing strategic issues in manufacturing and service operations. Relationship between manufacturing and service companies and their suppliers, customers and competitors are analyzed. Additional topics explored are: technology, facilities, vertical integration and strategic resource utilization. Specific approaches to making operations decisions in regards to outsourcing and globalization are discussed.
