Examines the development and management of pasture-based dairy and livestock farm businesses. Covers many areas needed to be successful in the industry including the principles of managed grazing, milking center design, livestock production, organic marketing, farm design and remodeling, winter feeding and housing strategies and farm enterprise development. Learners will develop their own business plan for a current or desired farm operation and present to a panel of successful farmers and agricultural lenders.
