Since 2008, DOGust 1st has been celebrated as the universal birthday for all shelter dogs. It’s a day for shelters across the country to promote acceptance and adoptions of shelter dogs into new forever families. Here’s are a few ways you can join in the celebration:
- Donate your time and talents at a local animal shelter helping clean enclosures, walk dogs, and more.
- Contact your local shelter to find out their items of greatest need. Make monetary or item donations to fulfill their wish list.
- If you’ve adopted a furry friend, share your love of your pet on social media with a photo and adoption story. (We want to see it too! Use #dogust1 and @ntctimberwolves.)
- Pamper your pet extra today with a new toy, special treat or longer playtime/walk.
