Tactical EMS (TEMS) is a comprehensive course in the applied science of tactical medicine and rescue techniques. The knowledge obtained regarding high-threat rescue techniques and tactical operational medical treatment modalities will empower the tactical rescuer to become adaptable and successful in a high-threat environment. This course meets the Wisconsin Department of Health, EMS Unit requirements for TEMS credentialing within the state of Wisconsin. All classes are held at the state-of-the-art NTC Public Safety Center of Excellence.

This class is restricted to only current licensed Emergency Medical Technicians and or Law Enforcement Officers. (Proof of certification will be needed on the first day of class)

This is a physically demanding course. Extended outdoor scenarios are part of the program which will continue in all types of weather conditions, (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind) in fire and police training areas. It is generally recommended that students should not have limited duty restrictions or cardiac or respiratory conditions and be fit for duty as determined by your police/fire department and/or personal physician. Reasonable accommodations will be made according to ADA/NTC policy with prior notification.

The intense 30 hour/3-day course will focus on applying the principles of the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) guidelines for casualty management in the innately nonlinear/complex environment encountered in tactical operations and other high-threat environments.

The program of instruction is designed to provide the student with the tools to provide appropriate treatments and effectively manage casualties through all phases of care, and will include multiple hands-on and scenario-based training evolutions utilizing state-of-the-art trauma simulators.

Cost

$450 - includes tuition and classroom lecture materials; does not include transportation, lodging, or meals
