The Interpreter Refresher course is designed to be a quick stop on your professional development journey as an educational sign language interpreter. With permission from WESP-DHH Outreach Services, the Interpreter Refresher covers relevant topics and shares current trends in the field. The Interpreter Refresher series also looks to support the work that educational interpreters are asked to provide taking a look at Deaf Interpreter’s development and their role in creating opportunities to provide a quality interpretation in various environments. This will lead us to consider our own work through a reflection of constructed dialogue and linguistics while taking the time to look at our own self-care as well as supportive interpreting in situations involving vicarious trauma.
The course material will use recorded webinars, guided discussion/research, and self-reflection to navigate the content. The course is self-paced and available on-demand.
