These workshops will be held at the NTC Agriculture Center on County Rd K. Mike and Laurie Lawrence have been keeping bees since 2014, growing their apiary every year and are members of the Wisconsin Queen Breeders Association, the Wisconsin honey producers association and the Marathon County Beekeepers Association. They have earned their Master Beekeeping Education through the University of Montana. They have been successful with overwintering bees with a 70 percent survival rate five years in a row.
Harvesting Honey

In this course, students will learn all about harvesting honey from the comb. Course topics will include setting up a honey super, how to remove cappings, and using the extractor equipment. This course will also cover honey care topics such as regulations on bottling honey, storing, and how to properly de-crystalize. A bee suit will be required for this class, which can be purchased with the class (below) or on your own.

Cancellation Policy
An attendee must notify NTC of a cancellation prior to the beginning of the event in order to have fees removed or a refund issued. Attendees who do not attend without notifying Continuing Education will be responsible for payment of all course fees and will not be eligible for a refund.
