Childhood experiences can be powerful determinants of who we become as adults.  The research shows that as the number of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) increase, the long term impact is profound with a significant increase in the risk for a number of health issues, brain development, and educational progress.  This training discusses the research, examines the evidence and provides insights on how we can respond to this growing challenge.
Learning objectives:
  1. Develop a basic understanding of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study
  2. Review the framework for how adverse experiences lead to later health outcomes and risky behaviors.
  3. Discuss responses to the findings.
