Breakout SessionsTrack A – For Hmong Speaking Providers - (This track is morning and afternoon)This course will provide training on the implementation of physical activity for YoungStar. The course will also provide an introduction to Active Early: A Wisconsin Guide for Improving Childhood Physical Activity for providers to use as a guide in implementation and support for their programs. We will practice on an obstacle course that you can use in your programs! We’ll be moving, laughing, and having fun! Track C –
(Morning): “Teaching the Food Groups- The Building Blocks to a Healthy Diet” – Jackie Carattini, Family Living Agent Marathon County UW-Extension
Come and learn activities for teaching the 5 food groups which are the building blocks to a healthy diet. This hands on, interactive session will include materials such as songs, stories, and interactive lessons. We will also provide training on meal planning with healthy options that will include meal prep tips to make a busy life easier.
(Afternoon): “Growing Healthy Children with Farm to Early Care & Education” – Community Groundworks
What do visiting a farm, tasting local carrots, and planning a garden have in common? They are all farm to early care and education activities! Learn more about farm to early care and education and its benefits at this interactive session. Leave with resources, strategies, and tips to bring farm to early care and education activities to your site.
