3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Resource Fair, Community Veteran Service Groups
Explore community resources and organizations who support the needs of military members, veterans and their families.

3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. – Keynote Speaker, Kevin Hermening
Kevin Hermening is an active community volunteer, small business owner, and Marine veteran. He was the youngest of the Americans held hostage for 444 days at the US Embassy in Iran from 1979 to 1981, after Islamic terrorists captured the entire diplomatic staff. The hostages were captured after the Shah of Iran entered the US for medical care, and were freed on January 20, 1981, Inauguration Day in the US. Mr. Hermening often shares his experiences in captivity, the tragedy in the desert during the failed rescue mission, his views on Iran’s present leadership, and the challenges the US faces in its dealings with Iran and the Middle East during presentations before students, civic organizations, business, military and church groups, and political audiences. His presentation, “Liberty & Leadership,” provides a personal glimpse into a difficult time in our nation’s history.

4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Honor Flight Presentation
The Never Forgotten Honor Flight is a Not For Profit Organization of dedicated Volunteers providing Veterans with closure, gratitude & respect, by flying them to Washington D.C. to visit their memorials.  Priority is given to senior veterans – World War II era, followed by Korea era & lastly Vietnam era.  This trip is absolutely free for the veterans!

4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Mental Health Presentation, Wausau Vets Center
Explores the resources availalble to military members for self care and quality mental health.

5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Veterans Panel Discussion
A facilitated panel featuring an active duty Air Force member, student Navy member and a Veteran from a past era share their experiences and challenges they experience
