Bone and Joint Scholarship
At age 38, Jeannette Eauslin of Wausau found herself facing new challenges. Permanently laid off from her job of ten years because of the economy, she was out of work and wondering what to do next. Her decision? Prepare for a new career by enrolling in the radiography program at NTC. But with no job she needed financial help to make that education possible.
That help came in the form of a scholarship through the NTC Foundation. “I would not have been able to go back to school without the scholarship,” Jeannette said. “I would like the scholarship donors to know how much their generosity is appreciated. I don’t think there are words to express what it means. It’s the difference between me being in school and not being in school. It’s my future.”
When not attending classes, Jeannette tutored others enrolled in NTC’s health-related programs, took notes for students with disabilities, and was a student ambassador for the 2009-2010 school year. It all added up to some eighteen-hour days, but Jeannette was happy to share her time. “I like it,” she said. “It’s a way I can give back.”
