Kent Johnson

Kent owned and operated Trantow Do-It Center in Merrill, Wisconsin, for 34 years. Trantow’s was a family owned business dating back 119 years and was sold in 2015 to Wisconsin Building Supply/USLBM. Kent was the fourth generation of his family to own and operate the business; he retired in January 2016.

Kent graduated from Northcentral Technical College in 1973 with a degree in Residential Design.

In addition to serving on the NTC Foundation Board of Directors, he serves on the boards of Park City Credit Union and the Merrill Area Development Corporation. Kent is a Deacon at Bible Presbyterian Church and has served on the Wisconsin Retail Lumbermen’s Insurance Board of Directors.

Kent enjoys volunteering in the Merrill community and is an avid road bicyclist.
