Scott and Lucas Gast Scholarship

Brad Gast

The Scott and Lucas Gast scholarship awards funding to students with financial need who display academic excellence, strong citizenship and character, and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society.

Established in 2013, this award is designed to instill hope and make the dreams of education come true by honoring the spirit and passion of Scott and Lucas Gast.

Brad Gast had this to say about the scholarship:

“Through this scholarship, we aim to continue the dreams and passion that they instilled upon those whose lives they touched. Scott was the type of person who could simply elevate everyone around him. His passion to excel and use every ounce of his talent and energy while living. He connected with everyone, everyone knew him, and everyone enjoyed being around him. He led by example through hard work, dedication, drive, respect, dignity and humility. He passed those values to everyone he touched. His passion was always to be in the ring making a difference. He was never given anything. From a childhood where it was unknown if the next meals was coming to starting out working three jobs just to make ends meet. He understood struggle. His answer to struggle was to outwork it. That drive and dedication served him well.

“Lucas represents the hope of capturing dreams that we are fortunate to have the opportunity to grasp right now. His life, just a glimmer, only 3 days, teaches us all how fragile life is and how important it is to live our dreams today. Right now. In this very moment. His spirit embodies that whether we are here for decades or days, everyone, no matter how big or small, can impact and change the world. He lives on through this award to ensure that others can capture their dreams and pass on the torch of human compassion on to others. Lucas Bradley represents hope, dreams, passion and the spirit of living life for everything it is worth and the importance of capturing the moment”
