New Transfer Agreement Announced for Automotive Technology Students

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) and Pennsylvania College of Technology are proud to announce a new transfer option for students in NTC’s Automotive Technology Associate Degree program. This agreement allows qualifying students to begin NTC’s Automotive Technology Associate Degree program and transfer to Pennsylvania College of Technology to earn a baccalaureate degree in Automotive Technology Management, beginning fall of 2016.
 
Eligible students must have a final cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better at NTC and can transfer 53 credits from the Automotive Technology Associate Degree to the Automotive Technology Management Bachelor’s Degree. An...

The NTC Promise Will Continue During 2016-17 Academic Year

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to announce that the NTC Promise, an initiative providing free college tuition to qualified students, has been extended to 2017 high school graduates. The NTC Promise will continue to help local high school seniors realize their dreams of attending college while reducing financial barriers and ensuring a skilled workforce for our communities.
 
Through the generosity of the NTC Foundation and business and individual donors, the cost of tuition and fees will be covered by donated funds for eligible participants after federal and state financial aid (excluding loans and work study) and scholarships have been applied. The NTC Promise...

Students Can Enter to Win $100 Bookstore Gift Card by Completing Free Money Smart Courses

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Students who are currently enrolled at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) have the opportunity to learn about managing their finances and enter to win a $100 Bookstore gift card in the process. Courses are available online, at no cost, through a partnership with American Student Assistance (ASA) to provide a new resource to students and alumni called SALT. SALT is a free and unbiased nonprofit-backed financial education program dedicated to giving students the money knowledge needed for college and beyond.

NTC Extends Admissions Hours During August

(WAUSAU, Wis.) –Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is extending Admissions office hours to help you register for classes this fall. Anyone interested in attending college at NTC is encouraged to drop in, Saturdays, during the month of August. NTC’s Wausau campus will be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and regional campuses in Antigo, Medford, Phillips and Spencer will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. These extended hours are in addition to regularly scheduled Admissions hours throughout the week.

Free Basic Computer Skills Course Now Available

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – The Basic Computer Skills Course, a free and interactive Massive Open Online Course, is now available worldwide.
 
Created as part of the INTERFACE grant, a $23.1 million Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant project from the U.S. Department of Labor, this course is designed to provide hands-on training to Trade Adjustment Act-eligible workers, dislocated workers, Veterans and other adult learners looking to improve their information technology (IT) and computer skills.
