Students Encouraged to "Fill Shopping Carts" with Spring Semester Classes

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Advisors are encouraging students to “fill their shopping carts” now for the best selection of spring classes. According to Shannon Livingston, Dean of Student Success, students can take action prior to Monday, November 9 when spring registration officially opens.
“Login to MyNTC and select the classes you want next semester,” said Shannon. “When registration opens on Monday, November 9, you can “proceed to checkout” in MyNTC to complete the final registration step.”

Dairy Herd at NTC’s Agriculture Center of Excellence Named Most Improved for Milk Production in Marathon County

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – The Marathon County Dairy Herd Improvement Association recently awarded Northcentral Technical College’s (NTC) Agriculture Center of Excellence with the Most Improved Herd Award in the category of dairy milk production.
Since its opening in 2011, NTC’s Agriculture Center of Excellence has grown from 30 cows that produced 55 pounds of milk per cow each day to 99 cows that produce 91 pounds of milk per cow each day. There are 606 milk producing dairy herds in Marathon County and the herd at NTC’s Agriculture Center of Excellence is now ranked in the top 10.

NTC to Recognize Youth Workforce Readiness by Hosting YA Day

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Nearly 100 area juniors and seniors participating in a Youth Apprenticeship (YA) program, along with Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson, will recognize youth workforce readiness by attending YA Day at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) on Thursday, October 15.
The YA program at NTC is a rigorous one- or two- year elective statewide program that combines academic and technical instruction with mentored, paid, on-the-job learning that makes a real world connection for students. Middle Schoolers to Attend 4th Annual “Heavy Metal Tour”

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Over 3,500 8th grade students throughout North Central Wisconsin will take part in the 4th Annual “Heavy Metal Tour” on Wednesday October 7, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is made possible due to the partnership of the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board and the Central Wisconsin Metal Manufacturer’s Alliance (CWIMMA), in collaboration with Northcentral Technical College, Nicolet College and Mid-State Technical College.
