Applications Sought for NTC Board Appointments

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Applications are currently being accepted for three openings on the Northcentral Technical College (NTC) Board of Trustees. The positions begin July 1, 2015 and fill a three-year term expiring on June 30, 2018.
State statutes require that NTC Trustees represent a cross section of the district population, as well as the various geographic regions served by NTC. Of the appointees, one must be an employer, one must be an employee and one must be a school district administrator. Both the employer and employee appointees must be from the Eastern and Western Regions of the NTC District. The school district administrator must be from the Western, Eastern or Central Region in the NTC District....

NTC Apprentices Awarded Tools of the Trade $1,000 Scholarships

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment in the construction sector will grow 2.6 percent annually between 2012 and 2022, which equates to 1.6 million new jobs. Yet a lack of qualified employees is slowing the industry’s rebound after the recession, and Associated Builders and Contractors estimates a shortage of almost 2 million skilled workers nationwide by the end of the decade.

NTC Invites Students to Take Pit Crew Challenge, Explore Automotive Careers

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – High school and middle school students interested in a career in the automotive industry are invited to attend Automotive Career Night at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
Students will have an opportunity to take part in a Pit Crew Challenge, learn about automotive careers from professionals in the field and see products from 15 area businesses. Students will also be given a passport to fill out for a chance to win prizes like a vehicle diagnostic testing system and a football and jersey, both donated by the Green Bay Packers. Central Wisconsin Construction Conference at NTC

(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) will host an all-day conference at the Wausau campus for professionals in the building industry on Jan. 14, 2015.
