(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Applications are currently being accepted for three openings on the Northcentral Technical College (NTC) Board of Trustees. The positions begin July 1, 2016 and fill a three-year term expiring on June 30, 2019.
State statutes require that NTC Trustees represent a cross section of the district population, as well as the various geographic regions served by NTC. Of the appointees, one must be an employer, one must be an employee and one must be selected from an ethnic minority group from any region, one must be selected from the Central Region and one must be selected from the Eastern Region.
Region descriptions are as follows:
Western Region: The district portions of Price, Taylor, and Clark counties; and the following municipalities in southwestern Marathon County: (C) Abbotsford; Bern; Brighton; Cleveland; (C) Colby; Day; Eau Pleine; (V) Fenwood; Frankfort; Holton, Hull; Johnson; McMillan; Spencer (V/T); (V) Stratford; (V) Unity; Wien.
Eastern Region: The district portions of Langlade, Shawano, Menominee, Portage, and Waupaca Counties; and the following municipalities in Southeastern Marathon County: Bevent; Elderon (V/T); Franzen; (V) Hatley; Norrie; Plover; Reid; Ringle. 
Central Region Description: The district portions of Marathon County and Lincoln County, including all municipalities not listed above.
Applications must be submitted in writing and filed with the Marathon County Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Forms are available at the county clerk’s office in Marathon, Lincoln, Langlade, Menominee, Price, Taylor, Clark, Shawano, Waupaca and Portage counties. Application forms can also be found online at 
As required by state law, a special committee composed of county board chairs in the NTC district will make the appointments. The appointment committee is headed by Kurt Gibbs, chair of the Marathon County Board of Supervisors, and will meet on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. to hold a public hearing and make appointments. All applicants must be present at the public hearing to be eligible for appointment.
The nine-member NTC Board of Trustees oversees operation of Northcentral Technical College in Wausau and regional campuses in Antigo, Medford, Phillips, Spencer and Wittenberg. The NTC district includes all or parts of 10 counties in north central Wisconsin.
