(Wausau, WI) – Greenheck Fan Corporation was recognized at the 2015 American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Awards of Excellence Gala in San Antonio, Texas on April 20, 2015 for their partnership with Northcentral Technical College (NTC). Greenheck and NTC were one of four national finalists for the 2015 Outstanding College/Corporate Partnership Award, which recognizes partnerships between colleges and business and industry that advance the academic mission of the college, the economic prosperity of the community and the success of students.

“It is difficult to summarize the full impact of Greenheck’s partnership with NTC,” said Lori Weyers, President, NTC. “The company’s willingness to work together with our college, other manufacturing companies and community leaders demonstrates their commitment to educating our future skilled workforce in support of the manufacturing industry.”

Greenheck recognizes and promotes technical education as a solution to the shortage of skilled workers in manufacturing.  They routinely and actively encourage hiring of NTC graduates, continuing education of their staff and employees at NTC and work with NTC faculty and staff to ensure cutting –edge technology and techniques are recognized and integrated into curriculum. They are an active partner in the Central Wisconsin Metal Manufacturing Alliance, working to engage middle and high school students through on campus manufacturing events such as the Heavy Metal Bus Tour. Greenheck leaders also worked with NTC to spearhead a successful $1.3 million capital campaign for NTC’s Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering (AME) Center of Excellence.

“NTC has no stronger advocate than the employees, staff and leadership of Greenheck Fan Corporation,” said Weyers. “We are grateful for their ongoing support of our learners.”
