CPR & First Aid Training

CPR, AED and First Aid courses provide you with the skills needed to provide emergency care to those in need. These skills are not only essential for the health or public safety professional, but for anyone seeking the knowledge and training necessary to potentially save the life of another. Our courses are offered for the general public and as customized training adapted to fit specific business or industry needs.

Types of Courses

As a training center for the American Heart Association (AHA), we offer a variety of CPR and First Aid training courses for health and public safety professionals and individuals. The Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course(s), one of our most popular offerings, is ideal for members of the general public who desire the knowledge, confidence and skills to respond in an emergency situation.

Heart Saver First Aid CPR & AED

Heartsaver First Aid teaches you the skills to respond to a medical emergency until emergency medical professionals arrive. This course is offered in several formats including Heartsaver CPR AED (four hours), Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (seven hours), and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED BB (eight hours). Upon the successful completion of this course, you will receive an American Heart Association course completion card.

Health Care Provider CPR (HCP CPR)

Specifically designed for health care providers and students entering training in emergency medical services or health care fields, this course will teach you adult and pediatric CPR. The course also includes instruction on two-rescuer CPR and familiarizes you with barrier devices and AED. Upon the successful completion of this course, you will receive an American Heart Association course completion card. This certification is good for two years. To continue your certification, you must take a Health Care Provider CPR refresher prior to the expiration date on your certification card.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

As a healthcare provider, if you direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient in either the pre-hospital or the hospital setting, the advanced cardiovascular life support course is for you. In this course you’ll learn about the importance of team dynamics while building on basic CPR skills to include recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Upon the successful completion of this course, you will receive an American Heart Association course completion card. This certification is good for two years. To continue your certification, you must take an ACLS refresher prior to the expiration date on your certification card.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

If you’re a healthcare provider who responds to emergencies in infants and children in either the pre-hospital or hospital setting, the PALS course and refresher course is designed for you. You will enhance your skills in the treatment of pediatric emergencies through active participation in the concepts of pediatric assessment, basic life support and effective resuscitation. Upon the successful completion of this course, you will receive an American Heart Association course completion card. This certification is good for two years. To continue your certification, you must take a PALS refresher prior to the expiration date on your certification card.

Open Sessions

We offer a number of open sessions for our CPR courses. Our open sessions are scheduled classes that anyone can enroll in. Enrollment is taken until capacity is filled. These are a popular option for individuals and small teams.

Popular with businesses, departments, and large teams, our closed sessions are customized to meet your needs. These sessions are private to your group and facilitated by an NTC instructor. Closed session training is available at NTC or on-location.
