CISCO 1 - NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS 1 (10150185)

Credits: 3.00

Examines both the practical and conceptual skills that build the foundation for understanding basic networking, including: comparison of human versus network communications; introduction to the OSI and TCP/IP models; gain familiarity with the various network devices and network addressing schemes; and discover the types of media used to carry data across the network. By the end of this course, the learner will be able to build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches and implement IP addressing schemes. Admission to IT Program is required.

CISCO 2 - NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS 2 (10150186)

Credits: 3.00

Examines the concepts and commands required to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches for basic functionality. Technologies include Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), static and default routing, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Virtual LANs (VLANs), VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), Per VLAN Spanning Tree Protocol (PVSTP) and 820.1q.

COMPUTER HARDWARE FUNDAMENTALS 1 (10154100)

Credits: 3.00

Introduces learner to terms, concepts and functions of personal computers. Demonstrate knowledge of proper function and use of computer internal and external components, system configuration, data backup and peripherals. Helps learner prepare for CompTIA's A+ Certification exams.

ENTERPRISE VIRTUAL SERVERS (10150181)

Implement and manage enterprise virtual server environments. Learners will administer virtual machines, networking, storage, user access, resource usage, scalability, migrations and data protection.

Provides the student with a thorough grounding in Windows® Server®. Once the student completes the competencies for this class, they will be able to install, configure and administer a Microsoft® Windows® Server operating system. This course will place the student on the correct track in becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).

PRINCIPLES OF INFORMATION SECURITY (10150114)

Discover the various technical and administrative aspects of information security and assurance. This course provides the foundation for understanding the key issues associated with protecting information assets, determining the levels of protection and response to security incidents and designing a consistent, reasonable information security system, with appropriate intrusion detection and reporting features.
