DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY (10204135)

Explores digital photography as both a hobby and as a profession. The course will cover digital image basics, digital camera features, using digital cameras, photographic techniques, studio photography, basic digital image editing and using and printing digital images.

Introduces learners to the evolution of business and entrepreneurship. Learners analyze global, ethical and legal environments of business, explore the human side of business and examine the functional approach to information technology, marketing, human resource management, operations management and finance.

MARKETING PRINCIPLES (10104172)

Credits: 3.00

Introduces an understanding of basic marketing fundamentals. The learner will explore consumer demographics, lifestyles and decision making; evaluate product distribution; promotions and price planning. The learner will create a Strategic Marketing Plan combining the components listed and develop a presentation.

PHOTOSHOP/IMAGE MANIPULATION (10204126)

Credits: 2.00

Explores Adobe Photoshop as a tool to create, adjust and manipulate images for print and web. Special attention is given to image manipulation techniques, color/tonal correction, resolution and output issues. Familiarity with Macintosh operating system suggested.

Introduces the learner to a blend of fundamentals and new practices to prepare them to build quality partnerships by creating customer value. Explores the retail environment and the increased demand for skills and education in employees. To succeed in retailing, current and future retailers must be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Consumers are expecting full service and the consumer "experience" -not mere product purchase transactions. In this course, we will explore the foundation and basic functions of retailing to assist you in becoming a more knowledgeable and effective member of a retail operation. This course provides the opportunity for you to develop the skills, processes and practical experiences to manage, plan, buy, price and merchandise products within a retail business.

SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS 1 (10104125)

Credits: 3.00

Incorporates an overview of contemporary social networking sites. The learner sets up, monitors, and measures a social media campaign. The learner examines how businesses embrace social media platforms to connect with consumers and increase awareness. Additionally, the learner explores the history and development of social media sites, along with analyzing the ethical and potential legal concerns that have arisen over this communication medium.

Develops content to maximize the social media impact by learning how to consistently post content that attracts a growing following of consumers. The learner defines a targeted audience, incorporates tactics to engage an existing audience, develops a strategy to increase followers and creates a social media marketing plan.
