AUTODESK INVENTOR 3D CAD SOFTWARE (10606130)

Credits: 2.00

Introduces the 3-dimensional modeling software Inventor to create solid part models, sheet metal and assemblies. The learner will create parts and assemblies as well as related 2D working drawings, bills of materials and animations. Learners will practice their skills on a variety of projects with various levels of difficulty.

INTRODUCTION TO WELDING (10442101)

Credits: 2.00

Compares equipment and techniques used in the major arc welding and thermal cutting processes. Learners perform introductory level welds in the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes. Learners also perform material preparation skills including shearing, grinding and thermal cutting.

LEAN MANUFACTURING FUNDAMENTALS (10623147)

Credits: 2.00

Analyzes the eight wastes of manufacturing. The learner will then explore concepts such as 5S, Total Productive Maintenance, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping. The learner will be given activities to implement concepts in their work setting.

Applies PC-based integrative computer graphics systems used to create and convert computer-generated designs. Emphasizes developing the skills necessary to create and modify basic computer-generated designs.

Explores the application of the skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently plan, organize, implement, measure, and control manufacturing process. The learner will examine the application of the scientific method, team concepts, decision-making strategies, seven-step problem solving process, the value of feedback and quality control improvement tools and their application.

SOLIDWORKS FOR MECHANICAL DESIGN (10606100)

Credits: 2.00

Introduces the 3-dimensional software SolidWorks to create part models, assemblies and the subsequent 2D working drawings. The learner will begin at entry-level and progress to a beginning user status. Fundamentals of SolidWorks will be covered and mastered through the creation of various design learning activities.
