Description
Applies medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and directional terminology as it relates to disease processes. Focuses on disease etiology, symptoms, transmission, diagnosis, prevention, and control as it relates to companion animal and equine diseases. Learners will examine the impact of various diseases to properly handle diagnostic samples. Toxic plants and other substances, as well as, reporting and monitoring of federally regulated diseases will be explored.
Prerequisites: 10-091-214 VERTEBRATE ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY 1 and 10-091-200 ANIMAL MANAGEMENT. Condition: Accepted to Veterinary Technician Associate Degree.
