Lean Sigma Accelerated Certificate Training

Thursdays, August 13, 2020 - June 18, 2021
This accelerated, hybrid format is designed specifically for organizations who want to implement Lean Six Sigma. In the bi-weekly 4-hour sessions, participants will use the tools of Lean and Six Sigma to identify opportunities and improve processes for a specific workplace project. This certificate consists of four courses: Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and 5S Project.

Careers Camp Video Series

Even though we weren't able to have a traditional in-person Careers Camp experience for elementary and middle school students this summer, we are excited to introduce a series of videos to show students how their interests can lead to an exciting future career!

Medication Assistant Training

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to be offering Medication Assistant training at our Wausau campus. The Medication Assistant is a Certified Nursing Assistant employed in a nursing home who administers specific medications under the supervision of the nursing staff. The training program provides an opportunity for students to develop the knowledge of standard practices related to administration of medications affecting multiple body systems and meets the state requirements for certification.

Introduction to Project Management

Wednesdays, September 9 - October 28, 2020
In this course you will work on a real project in a team setting. Learners will bring a limited scope work or personal project to work on during the course. The purpose of the project is to apply a structured project management approach to a real project. Learners complete weekly deliverables that build toward the final project notebook and presentation. Project Manager responsibility is rotated so each team member has an opportunity to be the Project Manager.

Everything DiSC for Leadership Workshop

Monday, November 2, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Participants of this workshop will complete the Everything DiSC Work of Leaders assessment and gain a better understanding of their personality and how it impacts their leadership style. After completing the assessment, participants will meet for a half-day workshop to discuss and better understand their results. Lead by a DiSC-certified facilitator and offered through a fully online, livestream format, this session will provide practical tools and tips for leveraging your DiSC strengths as a growing leader.

Financial Aid Nights

Financial aid nights have become an important way to communicate financial aid information to parents and students new to the process.

Everything DiSC for Sales

Wednesdays, November 11 & November 18, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Lead by a DiSC-certified facilitator, this online, streaming session will provide participants with the results of their Everything DiSC Sales profile and discuss practical tools and tips for leveraging your DiSC strengths to better serve your customers and increase your sales.

Forklift Train the Trainer

Wednesday, November 11, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This course provides learners with the opportunity to increase awareness and be prepared to know foundational safe operation, hazards, and dangerous situations. All participants will participate in active discussions and actual driving practice and train the trainer best practices are shared at the end by NTC Instructor. Forklift training kits for individual locations or future use will need to be purchased after training session.

Drone Training Courses

Thursday, November 19, 2020; 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
This course will begin to delve into the avenue for becoming a certified FAA sUAS pilot and will also include maintenance, pre- and post-flight checks and plans and more. Led by an experienced drone pilot and featuring guest lessons by area flight instructors, this course will prepare students and businesses to take the FAA’s Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam; upon completion of an exam, students would be certified to operate a drone for commercial and/or business purposes.

Moulder Set-Up and Knife Grinding Workshop

Spring 2021 - Dates TBD
This hands-on workshop will teach you the step-by-step procedures for accurately setting up production moulders and properly grinding profile knives. In the classroom, time will be spent focusing on basic moulder theory and principles that impact machining quality. You will then apply the knowledge gained in the classroom through hands-on practice on industrial machines in our state-of-the-art facility.
