Custom Chair Design and Construction

Saturdays & Sundays, February 29 - March 14, 2020
Taught by a leading furniture expert, this custom dining room chair design and construction course will take you step-by-step through the process of planning, designing and building your own custom chair. All participants of this course will practice by building their own Stickley-style custom chair during class.

Tractor Safety

Saturdays, February 29 - April 4, 2020 (No class 3/28); 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
This course provides youth between the ages of 12 to 16 with the necessary requirements to be certified for compliance under Wisconsin Act 455 to operate tractors or self-propelled machinery for their own family on public roads.

Drone Training Courses

Thursday, March 5, 2020; 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
This course will begin to delve into the avenue for becoming a certified FAA sUAS pilot and will also include maintenance, pre- and post-flight checks and plans and more. Led by an experienced drone pilot and featuring guest lessons by area flight instructors, this course will prepare students and businesses to take the FAA’s Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam; upon completion of an exam, students would be certified to operate a drone for commercial and/or business purposes

CCAR Recovery Coach Academy

March 16 - 19, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© is a 4-day intensive training academy focusing on providing individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into or sustain long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. Provided in a retreat-like environment, the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© prepares participants by helping them to actively listen, ask really good questions, and discover and manage their own stuff.

OSHA 10 / 30 - General Industry

Occupational safety is important in every work environment. Designed for general industry workers, foremen, job supervisors and anyone involved in general industry, this course provides an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by the Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.

Moulder Set-Up and Knife Grinding Workshop

Tuesday, March 24 - Thursday, March 26, 2020
This hands-on workshop will teach you the step-by-step procedures for accurately setting up production moulders and properly grinding profile knives. In the classroom, time will be spent focusing on basic moulder theory and principles that impact machining quality. You will then apply the knowledge gained in the classroom through hands-on practice on industrial machines in our state-of-the-art facility.

Robotics & Programming Tour

Wednesday, March 25, 2020 — 4:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
NTC is partnering with Greenheck Fan Corporation and Wausau Window and Wall Systems to highlight career opportunities in robotics and programming through our first Automation Tour. This event will provide individuals with an opportunity to tour these businesses and explore careers in automation.

Medication Assistant Training

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to be offering Medication Assistant training at our Wausau campus. The Medication Assistant is a Certified Nursing Assistant employed in a nursing home who administers specific medications under the supervision of the nursing staff. The training program provides an opportunity for students to develop the knowledge of standard practices related to administration of medications affecting multiple body systems and meets the state requirements for certification.

Everything DiSC for Leadership Workshop

Friday, April 3, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Participants of this workshop will complete the Everything DiSC Work of Leaders assessment and gain a better understanding of their personality and how it impacts their leadership style. After completing the assessment, participants will meet for a half-day workshop to discuss and better understand their results. Lead by a DiSC-certified facilitator, this session will provide practical tools and tips for leveraging your DiSC strengths as a growing leader.

Part 46 New Miner Training

Monday, April 6 - Wednesday, April 8, 2020; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily
Part 46 New Miner Training provides 24 hours of MSHA Part 46 compliance training. Federal compliance requires a comprehensive and effective curriculum for new miners in a surface mining environment to develop good judgment and safe work habits for years of safe mining. The Surface Miner Training curriculum parallels the required and suggested topics outlined in the Part 46 federal regulations addressing miner training.

Everything DiSC for Sales

Wednesdays, April 8 & 15, 2020; 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Lead by a DiSC-certified facilitator, this session will provide participants with the results of their Everything DiSC Sales profile and discuss practical tools and tips for leveraging your DiSC strengths to better serve your customers and increase your sales.
