Fire Extinguisher Safety

OSHA requires employers who provide fire extinguishers in the workplace that are available for employees use to also provide an educational program for affected workers that cover the principles of fire extinguisher use as well as the hazards of early stage fire-fighting.

Forklift Safety Training

The hazards commonly associated with powered industrial trucks vary depending on the vehicle type and the workplace where the truck is used. The best way to protect employees from injury is to know the different types of truck operated and understanding the workplace. This training will address: Types and Fundamentals, Operating the Forklift, Understanding the Workplace and Training Assistance.

HAZCOM Training

This course is designed to ensure that information about chemical hazards and associated protective measures is disseminated by requiring chemical manufacturers to evaluate the hazards of the chemicals they produce, provide information about them through labels and material safety data sheets. Employers with hazardous chemicals in their workplaces must prepare and implement a written hazard communication program and ensure that all containers are labeled, provide access to MSDSs, and an effective training program for all potentially exposed employees.

HAZMAT Awareness Training

Hazardous materials are considered any substance or compound that has a capability of producing adverse effects on the health and safety of humans. This course is for individuals who are likely to discover a hazardous substance release and trained to define a hazardous material and its risks, recognize a release, identify the material if possible, and identify the need for additional resources.

If you are graduating in December and have submitted your online application to participate in the commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 16, stop by the Student Leadership Center to pick up your regalia and tickets.

The OSHA 10 Hour Construction is intended to provide training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

Cow Cues Series: Transition Cow Diseases

This course will cover common causes, signs, and symptoms of fresh cow diseases. Part 1 is classroom/lecture based, while Part 2 will build upon classroom learning by utilizing the NTC animals to perform fresh cow exams and identify the diseases. It is recommended that participants take Part 1 prior to participating in Part 2.

Northcentral Technical College is pleased to partner with the Wausau Downtown Airport and local drone operators to present drone training for the Central Wisconsin area.
