Knead to Know: Sourdough Basics

Interested in making sourdough bread at home but not sure where to begin? This 2-hour evening class offers a clear, approachable introduction to sourdough baking through a lecture-based format with demonstrations. Participants will observe techniques, ask questions, and taste bread samples, but will not be baking during class.

All supplies and equipment needed for demonstration will be provided, and participants do not need to bring anything. This class is designed for beginners who want to understand the fundamentals before getting started on their own.

  • How to begin sourdough baking
  • caring for and maintaining yeast
  • Basic recipe and process for mixing and fermentation
  • When and how to incorporate flavors into your bread

Cancellation Policy

An Attendee must notify NTC of a cancellation prior to the beginning of the event in order to have fees removed or a refund issued. Attendees who do not attend without notifying Continuing Education will be responsible for payment of all course fees and will be not eligible for a refund.
