Introduces learners to an in-depth study of major literary genres such as poetry, drama, non-fiction and fiction. Learners will demonstrate a mastery of literary terminology and organized writing; in addition, learners will conduct close readings using critical thinking skills as they synthesize scholarly criticism to conduct literary interpretations that consider cultural and historical context as well as the shared human experience. Learners will present their arguments and findings through discussions, presentations and supported written analysis.
